A Cute New Little Family

These are my good friends and their new little lady. I love them and I am already smitten with her. Seeing her cute little newborn tendencies, like the way she curls up into a little ball, makes me so excited for my own little lady. I hope the two of them are good friends.

I am so glad I got to take some photos for these three, and I hope they like them. It isn’t very often that you show up to a photo shoot, and the people you are photographing have a present for you. It was a fun surprise. I had an enjoyable hour with them, and I hope to see them again soon!

I love you guys! Thanks for spending an hour with me and letting me photograph you. I really do hope you like them. Thanks for bearing with me as I learned some things about photographing with a newborn in the shot. I totally love and appreciate the present, (I already ate some chocolate.. Roberts Family

I had the awesome opportunity to take family pictures for one of my neighbors. It was fun, and I loved it. There was a lot of laughing, and I love that they chose to do it in a back yard, because now it is a spot that is unique to only their pictures. The weather was perfect, and they chose the evening which is a great time of day to get some really beautiful natural light. There are a lot of great pictures from the shoot, but for now, here is this little sneak peek!

Stewart- Class of 2012

This is Stewart. He is a Tennis player, president of Chorale, and part of the A’cappella choir. He loves computers and this awesome BYU Creamery ice cream that is made with graham crackers. I impressed him (or tried to) with the tech speak I know, and I think I stunned him with my knowledge of System.out.println(“hello world”). We had a great photo shoot, and I had a blast taking photos of him. I just couldn’t get enough pictures of his eyes! Do you see those blue eyes?!?

A Party For A Very Special Lady

At the end of March we celebrated my Grams’ 80th Birthday! I wish I could tell you that she is pictured below, but, I must respect her wishes that her picture not be posted on the internet. I am a good granddaughter. She is the cutest old lady on the planet (to me anyway) and I wouldn’t trade her for anything. If I could be like anyone when I grow up, it would be her. She has the biggest smile, she laughs all the time, and it doesn’t matter how old I am she always is glad when I come walking through her door. When I was little it was a treat to stay at grandmas, when I was in college it was a treat to live at grandmas, and now that I am married it is a treat to take my husband to visit grandmas. Some grandmas are cookie grandmas, not mine, she is a slush grandma. I would take grams’ slush over a cookie any day of the week. I was so glad to photograph her party and a get together with my family. I think they are the greatest people I know, and it is a treat that I get to be related to them! I hope you enjoy the party pictures. Fun was had by all who came!

Blossoming

It is April and all the trees and flowers around me are blossoming or have blossomed. They are beautiful. I find the spring so refreshing after the blahs of winter ugliness. Everything is pretty in the spring. The flowers and trees aren’t the only thing blossoming right now though…

My belly is blossoming as well!!!

I will be welcoming a new baby GIRL at the end of the summer and I couldn’t be more excited (Well, excited now that morning sickness has passed anyway ). For anyone who still happens to look at this blog, THANK YOU! For all those who have been away for awhile, I hope you come back. I haven’t been blogging because I learned that for me the last thing I wanted to be doing while morning sick was blogging, or taking pictures, or eating, or working, or doing anything but wishing it would pass. :/ . The baby coming will mean some time off for me from picture taking (at least professionally, I am sure my camera will be on picture overload of this little girl), so try and make plans now to do your family shoots or anything else before July, because new appointment times won’t open after that until October sometime.

Hopefully this feeling better will mean more blog posts!

P.S. Today is April 25, which will always remind me of Miss Congeniality.

Happy Week-iversary To Nick & Amy

Nick and Amy were married on March 3 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. It was a cloudy, joyful day. They had a reception later that day in Memory Grove. It was fun, and was full of great details. They are such a fun couple to photograph because they always have a smile for me, and their wedding day was no exception to that. I had a great time with their families also, and I can definitely see where they get their happiness from. We had a day full of laughs, and I couldn’t ask for anything more laid back and fun.

Happy Week-iversary! I hope you enjoy your preview. It was an honor to be your photographer!

A Favorite Senior Shoot

This shoot just plain rocked. It was a LONG adventure finding the Salt Flats, but the lighting was perfect and my brother-in-law is totally photogenic. We had fun, and I think his Seniors turned out awesome; not to mention we got to explore a totally cool part of Utah.

This isn’t necessarily my favorite because I feel it is the best. This is my favorite because taking pictures inside took me out of my comfort zone and I was happy with the outcome. I had great families to photograph last year.
