A Favorite Senior Shoot

This shoot just plain rocked. It was a LONG adventure finding the Salt Flats, but the lighting was perfect and my brother-in-law is totally photogenic. We had fun, and I think his Seniors turned out awesome; not to mention we got to explore a totally cool part of Utah.

This isn’t necessarily my favorite because I feel it is the best. This is my favorite because taking pictures inside took me out of my comfort zone and I was happy with the outcome. I had great families to photograph last year.

I love this picture because this is the bride. This is her smile, this is her personality, and because she is my cousin I can absolutely adore her! It was a treat to take her wedding pictures.

These posts will be quite simple, but, looking back at 2011 I am impressed again that I have grown. I don’t know why I am surprised after 3 years to see improvement in my skills and creativity, but, it doesn’t change the fact that I am.

A Blogging Funk

It has officially happened. I have hit a wall. I am writing January off as a bad blogging month, and a month where I feel I have completely hit a wall creatively. That being said, I take this total funk as a challenge. I will be attending WPPI near the end of February which I know no matter what will inspire me. It is too awesome to not inspire me. I have a goal just to pick my camera back up in February. I haven’t taken a picture in two to three weeks. Did I need a break? Probably. Is January full of blah and usually no inspiration? Yes. Is my 52 Week project a lot less inspiring than I thought it would be? Yes. I think it is time to come up with a theme I will stick with, or not do one all together. So, for the few of you who check this and read it. Thanks for sticking around through the funk. Keep checking back because you never know when the funk might end. If nothing else I will see you and this blog full of pictures after my adventures at WPPI. :)

This is my sea shell jar. Incase you haven’t been reading my blog for awhile and don’t know this about me, I love to travel. When I travel I prefer to travel to a destination where an ocean is close. The ocean is my therapy, my peaceful place, and so far (with the exception of an awful snorkeling excursion in Cabo San Lucas) I have never seen ocean that I didn’t enjoy. My husband and I always look for shells whenever we are at the beach and so we decided to start a jar and just collect shells from all our vacations. I am excited to see it fill over time.

Noun is the 2012 52 Week Project theme. I am excited about it, and I hoping to challenge myself a little by taking more people shots that aren’t part of a photo shoot.

I did it! 52 Weeks, 52 Pictures, and at times a serious stretch of my creativity. I love it. Trying to find creative ways to capture the seasons was cool, I hope you have enjoyed it. I am actually really excited to start the 52 Week Project I have decided to do for 2012. Stay tuned for picture #1 and the new theme next week!

This week has been crazy, and I couldn’t decide which picture to use, so here are two. I can’t believe only one more picture to go in this years project! Winter is a time of baking for me, so the cinnamon rolls show the season. The Christmas tree picture is just for fun. It is great to spend Christmas with family, and this happens to be my moms tree! I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!
