Vancouver, BC, Canada

We crossed the border in the dark so I didn’t know how beautiful British Columbia really was.  I did however know that I was entering a place full of new adventures.  When we passed a sign that said “Think Metric” before we crossed the border, I thought  ”kilometers per hour here I come.”  It was interesting seeing a speed limit sign that said “Maximum 100″.  I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up and Autumn was in full swing.  It was seriously STUNNING.  We visited our good friends, and I have to say that my one regret of the whole trip is that I didn’t get more pictures of them and we didn’t get pictures together.  We will the next time for sure.  We explored the University of British Columbia.  It is a beautiful and interesting campus.  We saw some Vancouver Olympic stuff on campus, and that was cool to see because I am from an olympic city and we have some cool things to see where I live too.  There is a forrest area close to the apartment where our friends live;  I enjoyed the walk we went on through it.  You can see my favorite picture here.  Noteworthy things about the forrest include me seeing a slug for the first time, and a really awesome hollow log.

We visited Tim Horton’s and had delicious Tim Bits.  I highly recommend Apple Fritter and the Raspberry filled powdered ones, yum!  The Vancouver skyline is beautiful.  I got to see the ocean (which is totally important to me), and we only stayed for a few minutes because it was quite bitter cold.  We visited Stanley Park in a rain storm, but we did stop and see the totem poles (thanks to my friends for being prepared with the umbrellas because I was not thinking).  We also made sure to get my husband his favorite Canadian candy; the Wunderbar.

On Sunday we attended church, and afterwards we visited the grounds of the Vancouver LDS Temple.  I love visiting temples whenever I travel.  This one was smaller in size compared to other temples I have visited.  The grounds were beautiful all surrounded by fall.

On the way out of town we stopped at a beautiful lookout spot that is really close to campus.  It was so pretty.

We spent the rest of our trip in Seattle at the Space Needle.  I love Seattle, and the view of the fall colors from the top was fantastic.  We got to enjoy the top almost alone, it was romantic and fun.  We could see so many things from the top; we could even see our cute little white rental car.

It was a fantastic trip.  I can’t wait to go back, we miss our friends already.  A HUGE “thank you” to them  for letting us come and stay.  We love you guys!
