This is my #33 of 52 picture, and it represents summer for me because summer means I can take trips, even if they are just random weekend road trips. On Saturday I went to the Spiral Jetty at the Great Salt Lake in Utah. A group of us were going to the Golden Spike National Monument in Promontory, Utah, and we thought we should just make the 16 mile drive past Golden Spike to see the Spiral Jetty. Another person in our group really enjoys photography and he has been wanting to go see the Spiral Jetty for quite some time. He had read last week that it was a foot out of water so we were expecting it to be out of water more than it was. The 16 mile drive to get to it is on a dirt road, and some people in our group were dissapointed with what they saw when they got there, but I was not one of them. I thought it was pretty neat. It would have been cool if it was a foot out of water, but I thought it was neat, and I can officially check it off the list of things I would like to see!
On a totally different note, the water was such a wierd color that day. This is definitely not the usual color of the Great Salt Lake!
