My New Gallery Wall

I have to give credit to my friend K. Leigh Ford for this one.  She did a gallery wall where she lives, and when I saw how easy it was I knew I had to do it.  I had seen Pinterests of gallery walls, and I always liked them.  I just never thought I could do one.  I was very wrong.  Combine the want of a gallery wall with a hate of all the things in my living room, and you get a project.  My husband always loves the finished products, but the poor man hates when I get all crazy about changing my furniture (just ask him if you ever meet him about what an adventure it was to build our IKEA TV stand, and about how finishing it at 2:00 a.m. just because I wanted to get it done, worked out).  The gallery wall was SO easy compared to the TV stand.  There is no right or wrong way to make a gallery wall.

This is my new TV Stand.  It is beautiful, and I feel it was worth the hours it took to build.

I couldn’t get a new TV stand and keep the lights that I hated, so, I got two new lamps too. ( I LOVE IKEA!)

This left a big blank wall above the TV, I of course thought gallery wall after reading K. Leigh Ford’s blog.

I purchased some of the frames from IKEA, others I spray painted white to match.  They turned out fantastic.

Some people put the pictures in the frames first, but I wanted to get them on the wall so I knew what I was working with.

We chose pictures, figured out what sizes and what we wanted, printed them, and fell in love with the finished product.

This is just phase one.  I have another blank wall above one of my couches that is going to be gallery walled next.  I will definitely post pictures of that finished product.  I hope you love this one in the mean time, and if you have been thinking of doing a gallery wall, I say “do it!”  This wall changed the entire look and feel of my living room.  I love it.

Shannon Earl - I love seeing all the creative things you're doing with your house. I really need to actually see your house in person!
